Ski holidays Klaffer am Hochficht - offers variety!

Klaffer am Hochficht

With a population of only about 1,200, the small community of Klaffer am Hochficht lies at an altitude of 638 m in Upper Austria, more precisely in the Bohemian Forest. The "Kräutergemeinde" (herbal community) has, as the name suggests, dedicated itself entirely to many herbs and medicinal plants. Here, you will find the largest medicinal herb garden in Austria (7,800 m²), which is home to about 1,000 different medicinal plants.

Among other things, winter sports fans also appreciate the resort's short distance to the Hochficht ski area, which is only approx. 10 minutes away from the community of Klaffer am Hochficht. The ski area itself offers 20 km of pistes.

In addition, the Bohemian Forest region offers many more great winter leisure activities such as ice skating, curling, tobogganing, snowshoe hiking and horseback riding.

Bohemian Forest

The Bohemian Forest is a low mountain range up to 1,456 m high, which stretches for about 120 km across the border between Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria. Particularly remarkable is its density of forests and its high snow reliability. Due to its continental location, the Bohemian Forest is exposed to the influence of cold air masses from Eastern Europe in winter. These, together with the altitude of mostly over 1,000 m, ensure ideal snow conditions and make the region a popular destination, especially for cross-country skiers.
